Gwynedd has worked independently since 2012 with 4 focus areas: career management coaching, life coaching, delivering bespoke career-related workshops (in-person and online) as well as HR Consulting to SME’s.

As a career management coach, which is her primary business interest, she works with people from differing industry sectors, generation and nationalities, delivering short-term and ongoing career and life coaching services.

Delivering lifestyle integration programmes to clients, her passion is helping people re-launch their lives personally and professionally after setbacks, significant job gaps, or relocations. She specializes in Personal Branding and Networking using mediums such as CV writing, creating LinkedIn profiles, bespoke covering/ motivational letters and personal websites; she helps clients create career strategies and guides them through the job search process, assisting prepare for interviews, writing biographies and personal statements for tertiary study applications.

 

COACHING EXPERIENCE

While Gwyn is South African and is based in Cape Town, she has global clientele, working with individuals from Italy, Greece, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Australia, France, Iran, USA and various African countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco and Senegal to name a few. Mainly 1:1 interactions, in-person and via Skype, she coaches clients whether they are unemployed, senior executives and/or business owners.

Her coaching client list is not limited and ranges from veterinary surgeons, through accountants, environmental and commercial lawyers, financiers, commodity traders, management consultants, industrial designers, marketing and advertising executives, digital programmer’s, visual and performing artists, cinematographers, Pilates practitioners, educators, addiction rehabilitation counsellors, public relations managers, law enforcement officers, architects, fine artists and entrepreneurs in all manner of business ventures.

Her human resources practises are focused on performance improvement, employee engagement and skills development through 1:1 coaching-style conversations and providing real-time support. She also brings her HR knowledge into her career management coaching as she offers a deeper insight into workplace systems, helping her clients understand the dynamics and processes, which in turn enable them to make considered decisions and take appropriate actions along their career paths.

Prior to her HR consulting and coaching career, she served in client services management, human resources management, operations and training for 22 years in various sectors such as marketing, branding, advertising, education and information technology.

She has developed strategic partnerships with a number of businesses:

  • IMPACT Group, a global service provider of coaching and HR solutions such as relocation support, outplacement assistance and leadership development to global businesses: serving as their Career Coach and Relocation Consultant for the African continent since December 2014.
  • Global Connection, a global service provider contributing towards the well-being and mobility of expat partners and consequently to the success of the posting: serving as a Career Coach & Relocation Consultant since 2017.
  • CoachMatching (Pty) Ltd, a provider of high performance coaching for executives, leaders, teams and individuals: working as an Associate Coach specializing in Career Management Coaching Services.
  • Tharagay Addiction Services, a group of addiction recovery residential facilities providing a continuum of care for those recovering from substance dependence and behavioural addictions: serving as a Life and Career Coach Consultant and Counseling Locum.

COACHING QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate Integral Coach (ACC) qualification obtained from University of Cape Town (UCT) Centre for Coaching (affiliated to New Ventures West, USA), certification in Training and Development Management at UCT, Master Career Management Coach Certification from Cape Consulting, a certified Aperian Global Virtual Country Briefing Program facilitator and an IMPACT Group Certified Coach. In addition to this, she remains current in knowledge and practice through attending supervision and being trained by best-in-field. She has been a registered member of COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors in South Africa) from 2014 – 2018.

Gwyn is fluent in English and Afrikaans, and she lives in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. Her favorite ways of recharging include walking, reading and armchair gardening. Her long-term goal is to walk the Camino de Santiago, and she is working toward that goal one small step at a time.
